STRENGTH & STABILITY

The past two years have seen the largest mobilization of our members in the history of our union. This was strategically built with the sole purpose of organizing, preparing and supporting our 100,000 members in collective bargaining in 2025 and 2026.

We knew we had to fight for the significant gains our members need and deserve. That meant having to bargain hard at the table and be strike ready. This has been a massive undertaking involving Locals, Chapters, activists and leaders throughout the entire membership and the coordination of our entire staff operations.

We now have in place a strike support structure that is ready to be put into action if needed, the moment any group of our members decide to hit the streets.

But we are still very much in the middle of hundreds of battles at bargaining tables across our union, with the goal of getting to the fair deals our members deserve without having to resort to job action. We must not lose focus of the goals we have collectively set ourselves. We must not be distracted or detracted from the enormous tasks at hand.

We must maintain stability, strength and determination to the very end of these massive rounds of bargaining and ensure a successful outcome in the months and years ahead.
